Since my words are not up to the task of fully describing the grandeur of the high mountain views by which we were surrounded at every turn, I'll let the pictures tell today's story.
Ride summary: 10 mile downhill followed by 35 mile climb to Col de La Bonette and then returned the way we came. Total day's mileage was a bit over 90 miles with about 11000 feet of climbing(David JK and I skipped the final 10 mile climb back to our chalet).
Here are the pictures...

You know the part about long range planning? You are an excellent long range planner for retirement. The other stuff, not so much. I cannot believe these pictures. I am so impressed. Missing you lots. Luv, L
ReplyDeleteSandy, Dave -
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on making it to the top of the Col - amazing.
Thanks for taking the time to post these. It's great to see the pictures. Looks like the rides are turning out to be everything we had hoped. Fantastic!

Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteSandy,
ReplyDeleteWe don't even know each other but I must protest on your comments. I truly believe you are a patent (leather) Rockstar for surviving that climb and still grinning ear to ear. I am "only" 47 but will be thrilled if I can maintain your fitness level when I reach your more experienced age.
Bravo and thanks for your Blog. Echoing Remy's sentiments, it helps fellow Monsters (like us) who couldn't make the trip, feel like we were part of the action!
Best,
PJ
